Do you love the full look of GLAM eyelash extensions but wonder if you should invest in eyelash extensions yourself? Our beauty experts a Fluhme Glam Bar will explore the pros and cons of the rapidly growing Eyelash Extension Beauty Trend so you can make an informed decision!
Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent enhancements to the natural eyelashes. Typically eyelash extensions are applied to achieve greater volume and length to the lashes in an effort to accentuate the eyes and minimize the need for mascara. When applied correctly they are effortless yet glamorous. Eyelash extensions can be applied to provide a more natural enhancement or full on dramatic look. They are perfect for a special event such as a wedding or for a long beach vacation where you want to look stunning with minimal makeup
The application can take anywhere from 45 minutes for a partial set of lashes and up to 2 hours for a full set. Typically the client is lying on a facial chair or massage table and will need to keep her eyes closed during the entire procedure. The lashes will be applied one by one to your individual lashes with an eyelash adhesive. The service should be pain free and many say a relaxing experience!
When applied properly your eyes will look amazing 24/7 with or without makeup. Your lashes will be long and lush, will beautifully accentuate your eyes and many women feel they need less makeup when they have lash extensions. It’s fine to occasionally use mascara but daily use may shorten the longevity of the lashes. We also recommend avoiding waterproof mascara as it is very difficult to remove and this process can be very harsh on the lash extensions.
Typically an application will last 3 to 4 weeks but in order to maintain your lavish lashes you will need regular maintenance including routine touchups every two to three weeks.
Sometimes you may lose more lashes then expected before your touchup and this is usually due to repeatedly sleeping on the lashes, exposure to excessive water or extreme heat and humidity. It is very important not to pick or pull your lashes as this will not only damage the eyelash extensions but could also damage your own lashes.
Occasionally, a person may have an allergy or sensitivity to the adhesive or lashes and typically this will require removal of the lashes. It is difficult to predict who will have a reaction and some technicians will do a patch test with the adhesive prior to your procedure.
The cost of eyelash extensions varies greatly and can range from $100 to $500 for a full set and $50 to $100 for touchups.
Although eyelash extensions are not for everyone, we absolutely recommend giving them a try. At the GLAM Bar, our ladies have said that they love them so much they will never be caught without them!
